The River

Live USGS and Bureau of Reclamation gauge readings, seasonal medians, and a month-by-month hatch chart for your home waters. The board tells you what the fish are eating and whether your box is ready for it.

The Library & your collection

A catalog of the patterns that matter, drawn by hand, organized by what each fly imitates. Your collection is kept honestly — per pattern, hook size, and colorway — so "do I have this?" always has an answer.

The Fly List

When a hatch is on and a fly is missing, it goes on your list. One tap hands the whole list to a real fly shop's own checkout — we don't sell flies, we get you to the people who do.

Buying flies

Pocketwater doesn't sell flies. It sends ready-to-buy anglers straight to the shops that do.

The app's whole job is knowing the exact flies your water calls for right now. The instant it does, buying them is one tap away — and that tap opens a partner retailer's own storefront.

  1. Match. The River board names the flies working on your water today and flags the ones you don't already carry.
  2. List. Each missing fly drops onto your Fly List — a running cart of exactly what you need for the conditions.
  3. Buy at the shop. One tap opens the retailer's own product pages and checkout with the cart already filled. You pay the shop; the shop ships the flies.

Every purchase happens on the merchant's own site, under their pricing, stock, and checkout. Pocketwater is the discovery layer — the shops are the store.
