Privacy policy

Effective July 2026. The short version: your data stays on your device. We run no accounts, no analytics, and no servers that see who you are.

What the app stores

Your fly collection, fly list, favorites, and river preferences are stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync (and are signed into iCloud), your collection syncs through your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read. Nothing else ever leaves the device.

What the app doesn't do

No user accounts. No analytics or tracking SDKs. No advertising identifiers. No selling or sharing of data — there is nothing to sell.

Location

If you allow it, your location is used once to suggest the nearest fishing region. It is never stored and never transmitted to us.

Network requests the app makes

The app fetches public river data (USGS and Bureau of Reclamation gauges) and periodically checks for updated fly-catalog content from our static content host. These requests carry no personal information or identifiers.

Retailer links

Buying flies happens on the retailer's own website, under the retailer's own privacy policy and terms. Pocketwater may earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through those links; affiliate tracking, if any, happens on the retailer's and affiliate network's side, not inside the app.
